Access control card reader is the most important parts of the access system and the key equipment of signal transmission in access systems. If we regard access system as a human, the access control card reader is the eye, which determines the reliability of the whole systems. If there are any problems with a card reader, even though the controller and electric lock performed well, the door can not be opened, which will affect the acceptance and use of the project.
1, Purchase Wiegand 26 access control card reader in conformity with international standards
The international standard protocol for RF card reader is Wiegand 26bit, a part of card readers use 485 or ABA or other bit digit format. We suggest using the Wiegand26 card reader. such as Indala HID both complied with the agreement, If we use non-standard interface protocol, there will be some compatibility problems for system upgrading and maintaining. It is not recommended that you purchase a variety of output formats of the card reader, to avoid confusion arising from the use of multiple output formats. The reader is setting for manufacturers saving the development cost from the point of view of the business. Using the reader with international standard wiegand26 can bring the great convenience of the system stability, upgrading and maintaining.
2, ID card reader or IC card reader?
ID card reader is commonly known as read-only contact IC card. IC card is a general name for readable and writable contactless IC card. ID card and ID card reader is better than IC card in the cost-effective and inductive distance. If it is only used for entrance guard and attendance or parking lot card, it is recommended to use ID card reader and induction card. If you need to be compatible with non-quota consumption, then only IC card reader and induction card can be used. The popular and cost-effective ID card is EM card. For IC card reader and induction card, it is recommended to use PHILIPS MIFARE1 (refer to M1). It is not recommended to use other logic or TI TM card, whose market share is low.

3, Do not judge the quality of access control card readers from the appearance
Most of the card readers use a public mold. The model is common and everyone can buy the housing so even the same type of card reader may be from a different manufacturer, and service and quality is also different. The engineer must have the detailed understanding of the card reader, not only judge from the appearance and price. We advise contractor to purchase the card reader from the place where the controller is purchased. In general, the access control manufacturer will sell or manufacture similar quality access control card readers. So how to judge the quality of access control card reader? It is better to use U2270B imported card reader with RF base station chip. Of course, we also need to judge from the repair rate (which use more half a year), quality standard and reputation. Furthermore, a card reader is kind of equipment used for a long time, we also need to pay more attention to the design of an anti-dead circuit.
4, Sealing or unsealing reader card?
It is recommended to use an unsealing access control card reader. The reason is: even though it is sealed, the buzzer is still exposed. It will also be damaged when dropping into the water. And the sealing material is resin. In general, manual sealing always mixed inhomogeneously.,and resin material price is cheap but the quality is not good, it will be conductive after using for a long time, which will cause card reader operated in chaos or crashed. Some manufacturers are reluctant to adopt imported resin because of the expensive cost, which costs a dozen dollars to spread out to each card reader. Also, the sealant has become a "FIG leaf" for some manufacturers, covering up the poor circuit board design process, and even resealed the repair board for sale. In addition, sealing is not suitable for equipment heat dissipation and also will be influential to the performance of the reader. Therefore, it is not necessary to use seal reader in the usual occasion. In special occasions, we suggest doing waterproof protection for it.
